ECR 2025 Wins Two Gold Awards at the BEA World Festival

Vienna, Austria – November 26, 2025 – The European Society of Radiology (ESR) is proud to announce that the European Congress of Radiology 2025 (ECR 2025) has been awarded two Gold Awards at the BEA World Festival – Best Event Awards. ECR 2025 received Gold in the category Best Congress/Conference and additionally secured Gold as Best Convention. 

The Best Event Awards (BEA Awards), organised as part of the BEA World Festival, recognise outstanding achievements in events and live communication. Winners are selected by an international jury that evaluates entries based on clearly defined criteria set by the competition. The BEA Awards serve as a global benchmark for excellence in the events industry, celebrating projects that demonstrate innovation, strong execution and high impact. 

ECR 2025, held from 26 February to 2 March in Vienna under the leadership of Congress President Andrea Rockall, was built around the cohesive storyline “Planet Radiology,” connecting its scientific programme, exhibition and attendee experiences through a strong focus on science, innovation and sustainability in medical imaging.  

The congress brought together a broad international community and featured a five-day immersive design that integrated lectures, interactive installations and VR elements into a unified narrative. A digitally created world developed in Unreal Engine, enhanced with LED panels, 3D animation and motion capture, guided participants through thematic environments and made the central message tangible throughout the venue. This distinctive concept strengthened engagement across the meeting and reinforced ECR 2025’s position as one of the most innovative and inspiring happenings far across the border of medical imaging. 

The ESR extends its sincere thanks to all participants, contributors, partners and teams whose work shaped ECR 2025. Winning two Gold Awards at the BEA World Festival is an important recognition of the Society’s ongoing commitment to delivering a high-quality, impactful and globally relevant congress.
