Young ESR
The Young ESR Programme is an initiative developed by the Young ESR Committee under the auspices of the European Society of Radiology (ESR). It aims to represent and support the evolving needs of early-career radiologists while fostering excellence, inclusivity, and leadership across the profession.
In alignment with the Committee’s mission, the Programme seeks to promote professional development, encourage international collaboration, and address key issues such as equity, diversity, inclusion (EDI), and sustainability in radiology and the wider healthcare environment.

Young ESR Awards
The Young ESR Awards are dedicated to recognising outstanding contributions and leadership among young radiologists. These awards aim to celebrate achievement, elevate emerging talent, and promote a culture of innovation, professionalism, and inclusion.
Young Researcher Award
The Young Audit Prize is an initiative developed by the Young ESR Committee in collaboration with the ESR Publications Committee and ESR Research Committee. It aims to recognise and honour contributions to radiological research and academic publishing by young radiologists.
ESR Fellowships, Scholarships & Grants
ESR offers a wide range of fellowships and scholarships to students, residents and newly certified radiologists. Find out more about the programmes here:
The European Society of Radiology (ESR) defines a Young Radiologist as a person under 40, or a radiological trainee, or a radiologist who completed their training within the past 5 years.
The 5-year period can be extended to allow for periods when the radiologist was not working because of, but not limited to, caring and/or parental responsibilities, disability, personal illness, community obligations or national service.
