Sustainability
Sustainability is one of the most pressing and universal challenges of our time, and radiology plays a pivotal role in addressing it. With increasing awareness of healthcare’s environmental impact, the European Society of Radiology (ESR) is committed to promoting and fostering sustainability.
The ESR’s mission is to support the radiology community in its transition to a sustainable radiology practice, with a vision of developing low carbon, low waste and accessible imaging whilst maintaining excellence in standards of care.
In order to achieve this, the ESR has identified the five areas for action: Measure, Education, Practice, Value, and Advocate.
Below, you can find more information about ESR’s commitment to sustainability, its current projects and initiatives, as well as resources and research about sustainable radiology.
